biography

I conducted two postgraduate research inquiries, both of which were nourished through conference papers. My first study queried how the aesthetic qualities of emergent forms of typography affect the viewer's time perception in the context of digital communication. My second research study investigated design IP in the context of design business start-up management principles. This research initiative culminated in a time-based business development framework, which can be used to enhance a venture's dynamic capabilities through the systematic mapping of IP against other business development factors. 2004-2007: three-year MPhil study into the aesthetic qualities of time-based typography at the Royal College of Art 2005: business start-up development award by NESTA 2009: Virtual Typography, AVA book publication 2010: Innovation Voucher by East of England Development Agency (EEDA) 2012-1019: PhD study into Innovation Management at the Royal College of Art 2013-2018: paper proceedings in the area of design innovation 2015: Best Paper Award by the International Association of Societies of Design Research (IASDR)
