biography

Dr Albert Fuster Marti is the Academic Lead of the Highlands and Islands Campus in Forres. His research has been focused on two main threads, Design for Social Innovation and Creative Skills, that have been increasingly intertwined. He has been the Coordinator, with prof. Ezio Manzini and prof. Roger Paez, of “Design for City Making”, a platform of design for social innovation in urban contexts settled at Elisava, Barcelona School of Design and Engineering (Spain). He has been a Researcher at “Open Schools for Village Hosts”, Erasmus+ EU funded project. He has been external advisor of the “Decoding European Creative Skills” Creative Europe EU funded project, Researcher at “INTRIDE. Soft, Digital and Green Skills for Smart Designer”, Erasmus+ Eu funded project, and Member of the working group for the European Charter of Interior Architecture Training of the European Council of Interior Architects. These research threads explore the potential of creativity as a precious capital that must be identified, characterized and promoted, to unleash its impact while fostering individual and collective meaningful transformations. Developing materiality, relationality and beauty in Practice-based research projects has been the key tool to steer this vision and achieve relevant academic and social goals.
